All the points in the video are based on our personal experiences. There may be some things we don't know about DaVinci because we used it for such a short period of time. If you have any tips or tricks please let us know!

This is bad advice for someone who's editing for the first time, i want to chose between these two but i got the feeling that Premiere pro has the advantage in this vlog because you already worked for years in Premiere. I'm new in editing so what would be the advice to a new user who doesn't want to spend to many many at the start and where i get a better learning curve.

Yea, you should have highlighted the FREE part more. Premier is like 300 a year!

Funny you didn’t talk about the most important fact that Resolve is COMPLETELY FREE than a subscription you have to do for Premiere

Oh well. I started with premiere pro 3 years ago. I thought it was the best until i discovered Davinci this year. I had my doubts but oh boy. I just love the way Davinci works and I feel more productive with it. Some complaints here and there of course but for me there is no way i going back to Premiere Pro.

First let me say that I appreciate your effort and the production value of this video. However, the premise is misstated. This is not a comparison of two applications, but rather a tale of switching applications… and comparing the effectiveness of having a lot of experience with one application to that of an application that you have never used before. This is clear by MANY false statements about what DaVinci can and cannot do. It is clear that 30 days is not enough time to learn all that DaVinci offers. I would guess that you never once went thru the free training offered by BMD but rather powered your way through via youtube tutorials. As an editor with over 25 years of experience with MANY editing packages (was even a dealer for many for several years) DaVinci Resolve is clearly a superior editor in almost every way. The only two areas I can say Premiere has an edge is the available plugins, and the familiarity with their entire suite of software.. namely Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator. The absolute clearest sign of a problem was the comment you made about how Premiere may crash 300 times a month… DaVinci 10 times. That is pretty bad for a software that has been around for 29 years! Another area not mentioned was cost… Premiere is now sub based you will pay every month for the privilege to crash 300 times. DaVinci is FREE in it's base form which is every bit as functional as Premiere. And even the "pro" version is free with the BMP cameras… and only $300 one time with lifetime updates to newer versions for non BMPCC owners. The real measure is simply this… are you, as an editor, capable of embracing change and benefiting from the superior features/workflow of DaVinci Resolve? Or are you so resistant to change that 300 crashes a month is acceptable, and paying a monthly fee for that experience seems like a good deal?

I learnt both program since pandemic start.. After 2 months Davinci is my choice. And reading all the comments below I think I make a good choice..

The software is way way too convoluted for most of us. Get something simpler.
