The Gin Gimlet is simple, delicious, and well… it helps prevent scurvy!

The origin of the Gimlet is believed to have been created to entice sailors in the British Navy to consume lime juice in order to ward of scurvy. I could only imagine a bunch of sailors maybe not taking it seriously, but once you introduce gin to the mix… well I know I’d take it!

Now the original form of the Gimlet would most likely have been served with a lime cordial which I will cover in another episode, however, if you were to order this is a bar, they would most likely make it this way.

It’s simply refreshing, and of course, a drink this simple feel free to improvise with flavors a little bit. I have made this with Raspberry simple syrup, fresh kiwi, etc. but the drink is delicious just how it is as well!

Having easy ingredient cocktails is a definite plus to your arsenal when you don't want to spend a great deal of time adding things like a science project.
I have never tried Bellringer gin, but will keep an eye out for it, Thanks!

A simple classic. I'm experimenting at the moment with a lime infused gin and lime infused syrup for a gimlet.
